Crossing Over

 Pastor Daniel’s Sermon on 10/3/2024.

This month of March is the month of ‘moving forward’. What does it mean to move forward. Moving forward means to advance either by walking, jumping, flying or whatever means to ensure you are no longer stagnated or at your previous position. This could be in your career, business, job,  finances, location and acomodation.

When the Israelites were stagnated in slavery. God said, I have heard the cry of my people and I want to set them free from their captivity that they may go to a land that is flowing with milk and honey as I promised their fathers. Moses was raised to be a deliverer by God. And God contacted Moses and said to him, I am sending you to Pharaoh. Pharaoh is like the leader of an authoritarian government. Pharaoh will not set any of his servants free. If you are in Pharaoh’s hands, you are in slavery. You cannot take bold decisions. Pharaoh will want to use you to death. The Israelites were in that state for 400 years. Some person’s have been on a job for 10-15 years with no visible progress.

And God said to Pharaoh let my people go, that they may serve me. And God said, I will harden the heart of Pharaoh so that I may show and orchestrate my power that the world may know that I can do and undo. And the Bible said, it came to pass when the Israelites were preparing to leave and God laid hands upon the firstborn of all the Egyptians. And when there was outcry over all the land, Pharaoh jumped out and ordered the Israelites to go. Then Moses and the children of Israel packed there belongings, borrowed silver and golds from the Egyptians and left. But when they got to the Red Sea, they could not cross because they had no boat or ship. Pharaoh then realized that the Red Sea will pose a barrier to the Israelites, so he decided to run after them and bring them back. And the bible says when the Egyptians got to the place, the Israelites were there before the Red Sea, some were murmuring at Moses, why did you bring us out to this place. Is there no grave in Egypt that you brought us here to die in this wilderness. When you murmur against the servant of God, you are murmuring against God. Moses was a messenger of God. And God became angry. Moses cried to God that the people are crying, no place to go. And God said to Moses why are you crying to me. You have the angels with you, the pillar of cloud and fire with you plus the rod. Stretch your rod over the waters and the water shall divide and you shall walk through. So Moses stretched his rod and the Red Sea divided into 2 and the Israelites crossed on dry ground.

Many of you are going through situations that are harsh to you. Maybe due to lack of sufficient education, lack of money, foresight or lack of helpers. Most people are down because there is no one to lift them. This is why God has called me to help you cross over. Some of you are in a place that I was 20 or 40 years ago. But God helped me to cross over. Am here to help you especially the children and all those who wish to move forward. The Bible says it is the Lord that helped Moses and Aaron to lead the Israelites in crossing the harsh wilderness. God is the one that can make way for you by His power. It’s not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord.

Today I am moving you a step forward on crossing over. You have to possess the power to move forward. Turn to Philippians 3:10-20, “that I may know him and the power of His resurrection. And the fellowship of His sufferings being made confirmable over his death. If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead, not as though I have already attained, neither am I already perfect but I follow after......... brethren I thank not myself that I have apprehended but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press forward unto the mark of the high calling through Christ Jesus. Let us therefore as many as be perfect being thus minded.......brethren be followers together of me.......for our conversation is of heaven, for who also we look for the coming of the saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.......so stand fast in the Lord my dearly beloved ”

Say this, I am pressing forward towards the mark of the high calling of God. God has called you. Every one of us is called. You are called alongside everyone in this ministry. So as God is blessing us, He is also blessing you. As He is increasing us, so is He increasing you. The Bible says trust and obey for there is no way but to be happy with Jesus than to trust and obey. Your moving forward depends on God. If you do what God says you should do and in the righteousness of God. Put on your faith. Don’t be weary. Stop brooding over the past. Put on the new garment of faith and press forward towards the mark. The mark is the promise of Jesus Christ that we would reign with Him. Some people are after their belly, these are people that are not putting the purpose of their calling before them. These people bury the purpose of their calling, to feed their belly and body, fame, honor, things of the flesh. They make these things priority. And Apostle Paul admonishes that we should desist from such things and attitude. The enemy of the cross of Jesus Christ are those that do the opposite of the teachings of Christ. These are the workers of wickedness, living to satisfy the flesh. This is why Jesus said if anyone wants to follow me, he must drop everything that he has and carry the cross and follow me. Press unto the mark, the high calling of God in your life. All the blessings that follow those that obey God will follow you. The Lord says, if you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land.

The Bible also says, seek ye the kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33. Jesus said, I am the good shepherd, I have come to save you from the wolf and from perishing. Satan has come to kill and to destroy but I have come to give you life and to give it to you more abundantly. When you trust and serve the Lord in Spirit and in truth, the Lord will greatly reward you abundantly.
